Aaron (dad) and I have known each other nearly our whole lives. I believe since preschool. We won’t even talk about when preschool was. ;-) When we were right around Junior High age, Aaron’s dad, a previous teacher/principal of mine, took a job out of state and his family moved. I didn’t hear from him for years. But, a few years ago, he moved back to Nebraska and we became Facebook friends and reconnected.
Fast forward, I received an email about a month ago from Aaron letting me know that he and his wife, Christi, were due in a few weeks and looking for a newborn photographer. I sent him my pricing and let him know that there were no hard feelings if I wasn’t what he was looking for or wasn’t in his budget etc. I firmly believe that everyone should choose the photographer that best fits their needs. I also told him I was happy to help him go through their list and give him some input on others they were looking at. He had a great list of great photographers, BUT, they chose me! Yay! I was very honored! Photographing my friends’ (new and old) babies is one of the best parts of my job!
We picked a date and they brought Miss Ella into the studio. She was not into my swaddling or even sleeping, for that matter. BUT, we waited her out. I always wait them out. Finally, she gave in and we got some great shots! She looks just like daddy, if you ask me.
Aaron and Christi, thank you so much for choosing me and letting me photograph such a special milestone for you! Congratulations!
